Brenton-on-sea

What activities you can enjoy and where you can stay.
Brenton-on-sea is a small seaside village located about 9kms from the N2. Here we will provide some information about what to do and where to stay in Brenton-on-sea.
Take the left exit of the N2 sign-posted Belvidere and Brenton-on-sea, just before the white bridge before you cross the Knysna lagoon when travelling from the George and Sedgefield direction in the Western Cape.
It is a very popular holiday village with many holiday homes, apartments and self-catering units available to rent. there are also a couple of bed and breakfast properties too.
There are two restaurants in Brenton-on-sea. One called Butterfly Blu and the other Nautical South. Both serving a variety of food, with excellent customer service. There is also an excellent convenience store (Shop-on-Sea) selling a huge array of items. The nearest main shopping area, however, is in Knysna.
The main beach at Brenton-on-sea is a vast, sandy bay which stretches to Buffalo Bay. You can enjoy a walk on the beach all the way to Buffelsbaai, if you like. It is just over 5kms, (or 10.5kms there and back).

There are also numerous benches dotted along the cliff top providing breath-taking views of the ocean.
Watch out for dolphins playing in the waves, and in season (May to November) the whales passing by on their journey, either north or south.
For those that enjoy a bit of a hike, Fisherman’s Walk, is a beautiful 2.3km walk down to a quite sandy bay and is well worth the adventure.
