Stylish restaurant with scrumptious food and a tantalising deli.
It was a dry, sunny Thursday in June and after what seemed like several days of cool winter weather and more rain then we are used to, Bryan and I decided to take advantage of the sunny (if a little windy) day and treat ourselves to lunch out at The Urban Girl.

The Urban Girl opened in March 2023 and whilst Bryan and I have driven past it a few times, we hadn’t yet had the opportunity to have a meal there.
It is located on Belvidere Road, about 0.5kms from the N2 at the white bridge crossing the Knysna Lagoon. As you drive in the direction of Brenton-on-sea, The Urban Girl is on your right-hand side.
The setting for this restaurant, deli and farm stall is absolutely idyllic and the music playing in the background relaxes and envelopes you as you arrive. The decor is stylish and the service friendly and delightfully welcoming.
As you drive up to The Urban Girl, there is some allocated parking on the grass to your left and a little further up the driveway, there is a concrete parking area for about 16 vehicles. The parking was virtually full the day we arrived, a very good sign of The Urban Girl’s popularity.
Inside The Urban Girl there is a diverse variety of foods to buy, all of which look very tempting and appetising, and the items from the deli counter itself, look absolutely delicious.

There are several different seating areas inside, some with part views of the Knysna Lagoon, some in the main section of the deli / farm stall whilst others are in bright conservatory style areas, with fully opening sliding doors, which will be sublime during the summer months and are plenty warm enough during the cooler winter months.
The multiple, smaller seating areas (rather then one large open area), result in a much more private and intimate dining experience with which to enjoy your meal with your friends and family.
Bryan and I decided to eat outdoors as the sun was shinning and the sky was a deep gorgeous blue.
There are two main seating areas outside, one is to the side of the main building, on the patio under a large bedouin stretch tent, and the other is on a uncovered patio area at the front of the building. We opted from the stretch tent, as there was a bit of a wind blowing on this particular day, so it was slightly more sheltered.

After reviewing the menu, I decided to try the the Patagonian Squid and Bryan chose the Urban Gourmet Beef Burger. Both were absolutely exquisite. Full of flavour and incredibly tasty. We both highly recommend our chosen dishes.

Bryan and I will definitely be returning in the future to The Urban Girl, to try out some more of their scrumptious dishes, and I would 100% recommend it if you are looking for a relaxing and chic place for a bite to eat.
Also, don’t forget you can purchase wonderful produce from their deli / farm stall and dish up a delight at home, if you prefer.

By the way, just as an aside comment, on our table at The Urban Girl, was this combination of De Rustica Olive Oil and Balsamic Vinegar.
I recalled reading an article recently announcing that in May 2023 De Rustica Olive Estate, which is located in De Rust about 30kms from Oudtshoorn, won the incredibly prestigious medals of both “Best in Class” and “Absolute Best Olive Oil” in the World, at the Evooleum Awards in Spain, so imagine my delight to see it here on our table at lunch time at The Urban Girl.
I believe De Rustica products are also available to purchase in the farm stall. So, if you are a fan of olive oil, this is definitely one to try!
